Bushfire research reveals long-term impact on families
New research by the University of Melbourne reveals that families may do it tough for five years or more following traumatic bushfires. This reflects RFCS experience of the stresses faced by rural families after drastic events.
The RFCS WA team that attended a report presentation by Associate Professor Lisa Gibbs was very impressed with the relevance and depth of the study.
Some of the key findings were really confronting.
We can use this information to improve our work with rural families who are adapting to significant adverse events.
The research was partially funded by Red Cross. You can read more by clicking here.
